The Yalumba Wine Company:

Yalumba was founded in 1849 by Samuel Smith, British migrant and English brewer, who had brought his family to Angaston seeking a new life. After purchasing a 30-acre parcel of land just beyond the southern-eastern boundary of Angaston, Smith and his son began planting the first vines by moonlight. Samuel named his patch "Yalumba" – aboriginal for "all the land around". Six generations and more than 150 years later Yalumba, Australia's oldest family owned winery, has grown in size and stature, embodying all that has made the Australian wine success story the envy of winemakers the world over. Yalumba wines have a style all of their own and each have been influenced by a diverse range of elements. Rich with aroma of hazelnut, almond and caramel. Long and smooth finish. Fantastic with dark chocolate or vanilla gelato.

The Non-Vintage Museum Reserve Antique Tawny is medium amber-colored with aromas of ginger, figs and dates. Intense, ripe, and very sweet, it will finish off your meal in style.

Yalumba is a fabulous source of antique fortifieds that often sell for a song. The extraordinary non-vintage Museum Release Antique Tawny exhibits a medium amber color along with notes of prunes, sweet berries, raisins, spice, and jammy, overripe strawberries. Believed to be from a 20-year-old solera, it is delicious, but unlikely to improve. None of these Australian fortifieds improve in the bottle, but they rarely change and can be kept for a long time. Once opened, they should be consumed within 4–7 days.

Lightly sweet and elegant, not a huge, mouth filling style but one that unfolds its walnut, nutmeg, cinnamon and coffee flavors on a lithe silky-sweet background.

A pale tawny in color, this complex sweet wine features note of honey, fig and citrus. Itrsquo;s silky in texture, even if the alcohol does show through a bit on the finish.

Amber in color, sweet but nut unctuous, this has vibrant almond, apricot and spice aromas and flavors, and echoes rich notes of cherry and orange peel as well. Drink now.
