Yalumba Hand Picked Mourvedre Grenache Shiraz 2004 is deep, dark, purple ruby red in colour. A very attractive and aromatic nose offers white pepper and black cherry with brier and bramble notes. Complex, rustic and very Rhone-like, with dried herbs and roasted meat flavours. The palate displays flavours that are rich yet stylishly expressed, with dried fruits to cream, milk choclates, dates and malt. Quite savoury with funky complexities of tar, leather, fruit cake and spices, finishing with long gravelly tannins that will transform if you let it rest in a decanter.
