Yalumba Cabernet Sauvignon Menzies rrp51.50 2008
"Named after the cigar shaped patch of Terra Rossa soil in Coonawarra, the 2008 The Cigar Cabernet Sauvignon is the second label of The Menzies. Very deep garnet-purple, it offers intense cassis and floral notes with aromas of violets, menthol and a whiff of slate. Well structured on the full-bodied palate, it has firm chewy tannins, high acidity and good concentration, finishing long." -Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

Smooth and refined this is rich with cherry smoke and spice flavors that push through a veil of scratchy tannins and linger on the finish. Best from 2014 through 2018. -HS Wine Spectator.
Opaque ruby. Pungent smoke-accented aromas of cherry pit blackcurrant and pipe tobacco with a suave floral overtone. Fleshy and expansive dark fruit flavors tighten up with air and are lifted by a peppery spice nuance. Dusty tannins add grip to a long floral-driven finish of appealing sweetness. Stephen Tanzers IWC.
Deep garnet colored with a hint of purple in the rim the 2008 The Menzies Cabernet Sauvignon offers aromas of black currant cordial and blackberry preserves with underlying hints of Provence herbs menthol soy black olives tree bark cloves and pencil lead. Medium to full bodied and packed with muscular fruit the flesh is well supported by firm grainy tannins and lively acid finishing long. Drink this one now to 2019+. 91+ -Lisa Perrotti-Brown Robert Parkers Wine Advocate.
