Wyndham Estate Pinot Noir Bin 333 2009

Editorial Review by Gregory Dal Piaz:

This smells lovely with a jammy sort of astringent red fruit/ red currant note on the nose layered over vanilla, some light pickappepper marinade tamarindness, some preserved lime and a nice spice note but it’s all fresh and lively. A touch soft on entry with tannins that are lightly peppery and just a hint of austere, though that adds some nice mouthgrab here. The fruit is bright and zesty with cedary top notes to the core of burnished cherry fruit. This is very clean and clear and refreshing with good length. It’s fairly complex but at the same time rather subtle. Back up the Truck! 88pts

We create wines that are generous and full-flavoured – for people who want more intensity and sensation from their wine experience. George Wyndham became the father of Australian Shiraz when he planted the country’s first commercial shiraz vineyard in 1830. It was here, in his vineyard and house that is now a Heritage Listed National Trust Treasure, that he dedicated his life to creating full-flavoured wines.  This proud legacy of innovation and dedication endures at Wyndham Estate, where knowledge and experience is built upon by each generation of winemakers. A wider range of distinctively full-flavoured wines are crafted today. Still, Shiraz remains the signature variety of Wyndham Estate - the birthplace of Australian Shiraz. Read less
Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Layered Rice Pudding

RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.
