Wyndham Estate Chardonnay Bin 222 2011

Winemaker's Notes:

COLOUR Brilliant pale straw yellow. BOUQUET Fragrant and lifted with aromas of stone fruit, and melon. Toasty oak from partial barrel fermentation and maturation, melds with a nutty complexity that is derived from malolactic fermentation and aging on lees. PALATE Generously flavoured with a creamy texture that is held together with soft acidity. All components of the wine are cleverly meshed together so no one element dominates. Rich stone fruit and citrus with balanced oak and malolactic ferment flavours. The wine has obvious presence by combining fruit intensity, oak aging and malolactic fermentation for a modern twist on a classic style.

We create wines that are generous and full-flavoured – for people who want more intensity and sensation from their wine experience. George Wyndham became the father of Australian Shiraz when he planted the country’s first commercial shiraz vineyard in 1830. It was here, in his vineyard and house that is now a Heritage Listed National Trust Treasure, that he dedicated his life to creating full-flavoured wines.  This proud legacy of innovation and dedication endures at Wyndham Estate, where knowledge and experience is built upon by each generation of winemakers. A wider range of distinctively full-flavoured wines are crafted today. Still, Shiraz remains the signature variety of Wyndham Estate - the birthplace of Australian Shiraz. Read less
