On the nose the wine has lovely aromas of wild strawberry, red plum and rhubarb, with a lovely savory earthy quality intermingled with the fruit. On the palate, the wine is medium weight, with just enough structure from the stems to balance the forward fruit.

Winemaker's Notes:

"These special cuvees made for Polaner Selections include the fairly priced 2012 Pinot Noir, a large cuvee of 4,200-cases, blended of fruit from Santa Clara County (75%), Carneros (21%) and Sonoma Coast (4%). About 30% wood (evenly split between new and old) is used in the wine’s upbringing. The wine’s light ruby color is followed by a spicy, cherry-scented nose, a soft, slightly herbal, earthy style... It offers attractive aromatics as well as a good attack and mid-palate."-Edited from Robert Parker Wine Advocate
