Woodstock Grenache Rose 2011
The crushed grapes are cold soaked for up to 24 hours to allow good colour and flavour. The skins are then lightly pressed and discarded while the juice ferments slowly until the desired level of natural residual sweetness is reached. The ferment is stopped with chilling and the finished wine is held cold in tanks, then bottled in small runs to ensure freshness.
Here at Woodstock Estate, we endeavor to capture the essence of our regional home - McLaren Vale. We strive for absolute quality, which for us, begins in our well established vineyards, through every phase of winemaking, to the manner of which our wines are presented and served to you. The Woodstock portfolio includes a range of fresh aromatic whites, opulent yet finely structured reds and finally, an eclectic little selection of after dinner wines.
Fresh fruits on the nose and palate, which will be a good for a hot day. Quite a young wine so don't expect too much depth.
Had this at a Woodstock brand wine tasting session. Amongst all of its offerings I must say this fared best with me. Sweet, uncomplicated. Raspberries and Rose petals, I really felt the rosewater note. Easy drinking wine for a hot day. Serve well chilled.
