Believing that wine should be an integral part of life, Robert Mondavi founded Woodbridge Wiery in 1979 to make fine wines for every day enjoyment. He returned to his childhood roots in hostoric Lodi to craft wines uisng his signature techniques that combine rich tradition with state-of-the-art innovation. Our velvey Shiraz brims with vibratn dark berry and plum character from Calirodnia vineyards, laced with soft spices from oak barrel aging.
Thirty years ago, Robert Mondavi set out to establish a wine culture in America by putting great California wine on every table. Invigorated by the success of Robert Mondavi Winery in the Napa Valley, in 1979 he established the Woodbridge Winery near his childhood home of Lodi, California.
sweetish full fruit, soft but evident tannins combine to make a highly drinkable fruity style of red. Broad flavours enveloping the blueberry/blackberry spectrum, not complicated but enhanced by some varietal spice. http://www.spittoon.biz/mondavi_woodbridge_shiraz_2006.html
Just opened a bottle of Robert Mondavi Woodbrige Shiraz 2006. It was slightly chilled. A lovely wine-red colour. I could immediately taste the pleasant, uncomplicated berry flavourings, which lasted longer than I would have expected. I would gauge this a medium-bodied wine. An excellent quality every-day drinking wine, suitable with most foods, or simply for drinking in front of a log fire. Reviewed 27/10/14
