Rather bland nose, kind of hot. The alcohol comes through more than anything. First sip is pretty smooth. Then the acidity shows it's teeth. I don't know, pretty good mouth feel to start, then finishes harshly and acidic. Could this be young tannins? Not sure. Definitely drinkable because of it's price point, but I have had better California Cab's.
My husband bought it for me because it was on sale, I wasn't very impressed but not disappointed because of the price. It wasn't that smooth, it sort of had the flavour of port, a little sweet, a hint of prunes or caramel and smoke. It did not have very good balance, it was too acidic. It tasted a lot better after it sat open for a day.

Varietal composition: 86% Cabernet Sauvignon Balance complementary varieties, including Malbec, Merlot and Petit Verdot Flavor descriptors: Lush aromas and velvety texture envelop vibrant dark fruit flavors. Briary blackberry character mingles with complex violet, cola and spices nuances. Smooth, elegant style. Wine analysis: Total acid: 0.59% Final pH: 3.60 Residual sugar: 0.09% Alcohol: 13.5% by volume V I N T A G E The 2005 harvest was intense and lengthy, lasting from early August to mid-November. Luckily, our exhausting hours were rewarded with high quality grapes. Spring rains continued well into June—an unusual phenomenon in the Lodi region—promoting lush vine canopies (leaves and shoots). We hedged the vines to open the canopies and increase sun exposure on the fruit, resulting in perfect ripening. A period of heat in July gave way to mild late summer and fall temperatures. Mother Nature was kind; we had ideal weather during harvest. The ripening of the grapes was orderly and well timed, with a week’s respite between harvesting white and red varieties. Flavor maturity and overall quality of the grapes were excellent.
