Wolffer Estate Merlot 2011
Wolffer Estate Merlot 2011 is a blend of 92% Merlot and 8% Cabernet Franc that was hand picked and sorted, fermented in stainless steel and aged in French oak barriques (10% new). A dark red brick in color, this New York red is unfined and unfiltered and offers aromas of black ripe fruit, cassis, toasted nuts, sandalwood and minerals on the nose. On the palate, flavors of prunes, dark chocolate, dark cherry, toasted oak, slate and licorice with medium body, ripe tannins and a long finish. A perfect food companion!
