Wolffer Chardonnay Estate Selection 2011
Created to showcase Wolffer Estate's Long Island terroir, this 2011 Chardonnay is 100% Chardonnay that was hand harvested from 5 different lots carefully chosen and fermented in a combination of 20% new French oak barriques (11%) and stainless steel tanks (89%). A bright yellow in color, this New York white offers wonderful fresh fruit and floral aromas on the nose. On the palate, clean, ripe, crisp fruit flavors with a rich mouthfeel, bright acidity, excellent balance and an elegant, lingering finish. Pairs perfectly with crab cake, striped bass, lobster, creamy flavorful chicken, veal, and of course an array of cheeses.
Wölffer Estate an American Winery in the Classic European Tradition. Sagaponack, New York: Here, in the heart of the Hamptons, a collection of quaint villages stretched like a string of pearls on the shores of the Atlantic, is Wölffer Estate, a winery like none other on the east end of Long Island.
