Scents of wood and smoky cherry. Has a tangy start; warm mid, not much finish.

Pronounced aromas of eucalyptus, mint, and red fruits. Flavors of pomegranate, cranberry, and chalk with a minty, herbal aftertaste. Fresh. 57% Shiraz, 43% Cabernet Sauvignon in this vintage.

Another average Shiraz from Australia that is excellently priced and good for your average dinner.

Very nice shiraz for the money. Lots of fruit and pretty spicy, but very smooth.

Although the winery is based in the small Barossa town of Nuriootpa, a significant portion of the fruit in this blend comes from the Langhorne Creek region, for which Wolf Blass has been a longtime advocate as the region's soft tannins and early drinkability mesh well with the winery's preferred style. Certainly, the warm 2005 growing season worked well with Senior Winemaker Caroline Dunn's approachable style, resulting in a full-bodied but soft Shiraz loaded with plummy fruit. Hints of cedar, leather and earth impart remarkable complexity to an entry-level wine, finishing with a touch of coffee.

The 2009 Wolf Blass Yellow Label Shiraz is deep red in colour. The nose shows notes of lifted, dark plum fruits, complemented with attractive spicy oak. The palate is full bodied with dark rich berry

Dark in tone but jazzy in structure, with a racy feel to the prominent cherry and black currant flavors, shaded with hints of pepper and tar on the fine-grained finish. Drink now.

Lithe and distinctive for a cedary note that mingles with mint and a modest level of cherry flavor, coming together for a finish. Needs time to soften. Best from 2010 through 2014.
