Wolf Blass Shiraz Yellow Label 2007
RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.

Bright and spicy, with a veil of floral and tangy spice notes over the basic lively berry flavors, echoing on a crisp finish. Drink now through 2009.
On the lighter side, with pretty plum and spice flavors and vaguely citrusy acidity to balance. A lively wine to drink sooner rather than later. Drink now through 2002.
Oak lends nutty, caroby aromas and big, woodsy tannins to this well-priced red; fleshy red plum and berry fruit makes up the balance. Has pretty good length on the finish, too. Well made and with 17,000 cases produced, it should be relatively easy to find.
The warm 2005 growing season worked well with Blass's approachable style, resulting in a full-bodied but soft Shiraz loaded with plummy fruit. Hints of cedar, leather and earth impart remarkable complexity to an entry-level wine, finishing with a touch of coffee.
Supple, focused and appealing for the cedary, creamy overtones to the ripe currant and blueberry fruit. Persists nicely on the refined finish. Drink now through 2012.
Although the winery is based in the small Barossa town of Nuriootpa, a significant portion of the fruit in this blend comes from the Langhorne Creek region, for which Wolf Blass has been a longtime advocate as the region's soft tannins and early drinkability mesh well with the winery's preferred style. Certainly, the warm 2005 growing season worked well with Senior Winemaker Caroline Dunn's approachable style, resulting in a full-bodied but soft Shiraz loaded with plummy fruit. Hints of cedar, leather and earth impart remarkable complexity to an entry-level wine, finishing with a touch of coffee.
Polished and appealing for its blackberry and spice flavors, persisting on the refreshing open-textured finish. Drink now through 2011.
