Winter's Hill Vineyard Dundee Hills Pinot Blanc 2013
The whole clusters of handpicked fruit are placed directly into the press within hours of harvest. After pressing, the juice is fermented slowly to dryness in stainless steel tanks. Fermentation temperature is kept low, again to preserve the aroma and freshness of the fruit. The malo-lactic fermentation is blocked, to preserve the natural acidity of the wine. Alcohol 13% pH 3.23
Editorial Reviews for Winter's Hill Vineyard Dundee Hills Pinot Blanc
This smells terrific, it’s not very aromatic but then again Pinot Blanc isn’t an aromatic grape. what it does deliver is this subtle purity with hints of white fruit, white peach, crab apples, chalky soil notes and a fine base of sweet dried floral notes. Bright and focused in the mouth, this has a fine mineral base on the palate with lively acids helping to lend this energy in the mouth. It has a touch of roundness which it could stand to lose, but the flavors of lemon curd, lime zest, baked apple and herb seeds are pure and bright and drift on the long slightly dusty finish. Really a great showing. 92pts

Rough nose, funky and oily. The mouth is grassy and nones the pleasant.
Nose of green peppers. Dry, plasticy flavor - a bit like sucking on a water pistol.
Light nose that doesn't offer much. Very funky, oily, dirty mouth feel at first, although that does blow off/mute over time. Leaves pineapple and mango flavors. Acidic finish infused with lychee.
pale green straw in color, medium bodied. mouthwatering acidity, aromas of honeysuckle, chalk, green apple. food friendly wine.
Food Pairings for Winter's Hill Vineyard Dundee Hills Pinot Blanc
Very aromatic and full of tropical fruit flavors, look for blood-orange and grapefruit zest on the nose. Rich and full on the palate, lychee and orange flavors complement and balance the acidity. Enjoy with scallops or chilled before dinner.
