Wines That Rock Rolling Stones Merlot California 2007

Winemaker's Notes:

The Merlot captures the attitude of Mendocino County's style. Aromas of black cherry, with hints of mint are followed by rich flavors of plum, black cherry, brown sugar, cinnamon, and cedar. This dry red wine is a fine match for herb-roasted chicken, grilled beef or smoky chili.

Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Layered Rice Pudding

RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.

Weingut: Mendocino Wine GroupLand: USARegion: KalifornienRebsorte: MerlotAlkoholgehalt: 13,5 Vol. %Inhalt: 0,75 lEmpfohlene Serviertemperatur: 16-18°CFassreife: in Barriques gereiftLagerfähigkeit: 7 - 10 Jahre ab Jahrgang Rotwein > USA > Kalifornien

For the Forty Licks Merlot, I wanted to work with a wine that captured the essence of what the album was about. Forty Licks, its forty tracks covering the Rolling Stones from the 1960s to just a few years ago, and its really a statement of timeless classic rock. Merlot is a variety that captures that in a sense as well. Merlot has been around for a very long time. Some of the most expensive bottles in the world out there right now are Merlot as well. So with the Merlot, I wanted to capture the essence or the attitude of the variety grown here in Mendocino County. Certainly a lot of flavors of black cherry, a bit of mint, and some apricot in there, so some interesting fun things, and certainly a little bit of cedar on the end of the whole wine. A great wine for us and a lot of fun. - Winery ** SOLD OUT **
