User Reviews for Windsor Vineyards Classic Series Petite Sirah North Coast

Winemaker's Notes:

2002 was a killer vintage on the California North Coast, no exceptions. The year began with average rainfall, the growing season was generally mild and long, and no rain fell before harvest. With these perfect conditions, grapes hung longer on the vine, resulting in intense, ripe berries with deep color and complex flavors, and produced rich, luscious wines. And if you love big red wine, you'll love Petite Sirah. This varietal's name belies its anything-but-petite, opulent and tannic nature. True to the varietal, our 2002 Petite Sirah is full bodied and pours deep, dark garnet red, with inky burgundy edges hugging the glass. Fruit rich and mouth-filling, this wine sports great legs and shows substantial black fruit flavors and a warm, tannic finish. Decant this wine for an exciting flavor progression and for your maximum enjoyment. It's delicious with smoked cheeses and salty, full-flavored Italian meats such as Sopressata salame and Prosciutto. Medals Received: 2005 Int'l. Eastern Wine Competition - Gold 2005 Riverside Int'l. Wine Competition - Gold 2006 California State Fair - Silver/Best of Class 2005 California State Fair - Silver 2005 Orange County Fair - Silver 2005 North of the Gate Sonoma-Marin Fair - Silver 2005 San Diego Int'l. Wine Competition - Silver 2005 West Coast Wine Competition - Silver 2005 Pacific Rim Int'l. (National Orange Show) - Silver 2005 Finger Lakes Int'l. Wine Competition - Silver 2005 Los Angeles County Fair "Wines of the World" - Bronze
