Willow Crest Riesling Yakima Valley 2010

Winemaker's Notes:

Brilliant color of yellow straw with a slight green hue, this wine has an explosive nose offering up aromas of peach blossom, candied orange peel, lemon sherbet, dried pineapple, vanilla flower and mineral. The palate is seamless and round, yet light and elegant; great acidity makes this wine complete by balancing the 4% residual sugar. Classic Riesling flavors of citrus oil, honey and green apple come to mind in one of our best efforts yet. Drink all summer long...

Willow Crest Winery was founded in 1995 by David J. Minick, a longtime grape grower in the Yakima Valley. The Minick Family first planted wine grapes on their Roza farm, North of Prosser in 1982. David wanted to take the love he had for raising grapes to the next level by making premium wine out a small portion of the family vineyard. Focusing on Pinot Gris/Grigio and Syrah, Willow Crest Winery uses estate grown fruit that winemaker David J. Minick planted, cultivated, and harvested to create crisp Pinot Gris and bold Syrah's. By having the control from vine to wine David can monito crop load, canopy size, sun exposure, and the balance of fruit and sugar at harvest time. All this attention to the grape comes out in the Willow Crest wines. Read less

Pineapple and honey aromas with a bit of green apple and mango. Quite fresh and sweet flavors, with a bit of spice -- slightly effervescent and a lot of apple cider.

Holy sweetness! Of course, at 9% alcohol...this is for the beginner wine drinkers for sure! A nice introduction.

Tastes of artificial fruit juice, kiwi strawberry Capri Sun-ish. Super sweet but also with a bit of sour apple.
