Williamson Wines Red Bordeaux Blend Dry Creek Valley Vin Rouge Clarissa 2007

Member Review by MilesOfDenver:

DOUBLE GOLD MEDAL WINNER at the 2011 SF Chronicle Wine Competition and GOLD MEDAL winner in the Sonoma County Harvest Fair Wine Competition this Meritage wine is in the style of Château Haut-Brion with exotic cherry and plum character, a bright finish and great length. There is aromatic purity and depth here, expressive of our estate fruit which in this case is Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. On the palate the wine has rich substance and while rather soft and caressing, it shows wonderful character, freshness and acidity. It has a very bright finish, and great length. Pair with foods such as hamburger, steak, dense white fish and white meats, like chicken or pork. Delicious with olives and other Mediterranean flavors!

Australian-born husband-and-wife team, Dawn and Bill Williamson focus on producing limited quantities of premium quality California wines, estate grown in the unique location, soil and climate of Dry Creek Valley in Sonoma County, California. Williamson Wines maintains a tradition of producing premium grapes and handcrafting world class wines. Wines are first made in the vineyard and then achieve their maximum potential through caring winemaking practices in which attention is paid to details that are often overlooked or simply too expensive for large production winemaking. Three generations of the Williamson family now live in Dry Creek Valley. The wine business is small and family operated. The wines produced are strikingly individual, representing both quality and value. Williamson Wines are not widely available through retail outlets; generally they can only be obtained at the winery or via phone, fax or email. Read less
Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Coconut Rice Sweet Potato Cheesecake

RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.
