Wild Horse Pinot Noir 2002

Winemaker's Notes:

My goal with this Pinot Noir was to make a wine that was an excellent prototype of the varietal. It is ruby red in color with ripe red cherry aromas and flavors balanced with vanilla spice from French oak barrels. This wine represents the perfect balance of structure, fruit and oak so that the personality of the wine shines through naturally. Heron Pinot Noir is made from grapes grown in Carneros and Mendocino, areas known for their long, cool growing season. This medium-bodied wine is true to the varietal: well-balanced, neatly textured, firm and delicate. Aromas of plums and strawberries are followed by an attractive dried fruit flavor, leading to a smooth finish and a lively aftertaste.
