Wild Duck Creek Shiraz Heathcote Springflat 2004
The first Springflat came from our winery block vineyard. It is approximately 2.5 acres, sits on quartz buckshot clay soils and its production is around 2 tones per acre. Planted in 1988, it has now reached maturity and is capable of producing fruit of incredible depth of flavour.
Editorial Reviews for Wild Duck Creek Shiraz Heathcote Springflat
Lots of oak on the nose. Rich chocolate scents are joined by spicy herbal tones, vanilla, leather, blackberry and some plummy notes. Comes off as a touch sweet on entry, but is followed by lovely, spicy herbal nuances and some cedary/toasty oak. The tannins are firm but remain beneath the fruit here, which is rich yet quite fresh, turning much more berried on the back end. On the finish, this falls a bit short, butwith attractive red cherry/currant fruit. Really well balanced, holds its alcohol effortlessly. 89 pts
An amazing Shiraz and probably one of the best yet. Has an abundance of alcohol which surprisingly isn't overstrong. Will develop further into a fine wine.

This wine is outstanding, it's flavor is immense and well worth the (says someone who received it as a gift) - This winery is a definite jewel within Australia's crown.
