Residing to the north of the Great Dividing Range in Central Victoria, the region is at elevations between 160m and 380m. For the most part, the soil under vine is of the pre-Cambrian era - red and deep with excellent water holding capacity, although the regions most sort-after and expensive wines come from the predominately clay with granite and quartz inclusions of the Southern and Central sub-regions. These differences are due to the influences of the local ‘terroir’. Read less
Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Coconut Rice Sweet Potato Cheesecake

RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.
