User Reviews for Whitehall Lane Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley Silver Anniversary Reserve
Add your reviewWhile I throughly believe that the Silver Oak Alexander Valley is very overrated, this is one of the best wines I have ever had. Blueberry pie on the nose that I would rather smell than eat any dessert. Beautiful wine.

Much better than the 2000. Not my style but: Big, jammy, cherries that turn into plums, oaky,a moment of magic, silky, velvet, and sufficient finish. Decant and drink now... while the fruit is fresh.
Excellent, well structured cab, but Silver Oak cabs in general are made to taste better after lying down for years. Taste too early and the tannins ruin the velvety, full-mouth-feel I love so much with other expensive cabs, such as high-quality Stags Leap appelation cabs.

"Full-bodied, chewy, and muscular with an inky dark ruby/plum color, and hints of wood smoke, tobacco, cinnamon, espresso roast, and herbs, this dense, chewy, lavishly oaked wine should drink well for 10-12 years."Robert Parker"The
Complex, with a mix of creamy vanilla-tinged oak, dried currant, herb, pencil lead and sage notes that are tight and tannic, ending with a mineral and pebble aftertaste. Well-balanced. Silver Oak is the standard bearer for Napa Valley Cab. Because Silver Oak only produces Cabernet Sauvignon from California's two best Cabernet microclimates, their wines are consistently outstanding and complex, brimming with ripe cassis flavors, carefully seasoned with toasty new oak. This Napa Valley bottling is their most desirable wine. Don't miss the chance to enjoy a true Napa Valley icon. ON SALE. RP: The 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa (78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc, and 2% Petit Verdot) possesses a sweet, jammy bouquet of black currants intermixed with barbecue smoke, tobacco, espresso, and herbs. It offers a sexy, fleshy entry, but falls off at the back of the palate. Drink it over the next 7-8 years.

Wine Tasting NotesThe 2003 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a complex and concentrated wine that deftly balances intensity and finesse. The wine has a dark garnet color with a deep purple edge, and displays aromas of blackberry jam, dark chocolate, rose petal, black pepper and cedar. In the mouth, the attack is quite rich, expressing notes of brown sugar and nutmeg, and the flavors proceed seamlessly to a long finish of fruit and ripe tannins. Properly cellared, this wine should give drinking pleasure until 2027.
