One of the distinguished vintages, and vinter's-own that can still be acquired. Bonny's vineyard is named after the wife of the owner and is the smaller plot of land separated and at the front of the Silver Oak estate. It is wine from these grapes that Silver Oak is most proud of and vinter reserves for his own use. In 1986/87 a bottle of '86 Bonny's vineyard sold for ~$30 for which I tried a bottle and acquired a case. 7 bottles remain from my original 12 and each time I have opened a bottle - on a special occassion the wine is lush, elegant, great deal of depth which is exactly-balanced. It was brilliant in 87 and remains so!

The 1986 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon has a medium ruby-red color with the start of a brick edge. It has a expressive nose of violets, cassis, licorice and allspice. This wine is rich, full, fruity and balanced with a long finish of beautifully integrated tannins. Enjoy now through 2011.
