Aromas of dried currant melted chocolate sage and herb are supported by firm gritty tannins that clamp down a bit harder than usual for this producer. It finishes with a dry cedary edge that interrupts the flow of fruit. Best to decant. Drink now through 2009. Tasted twice with consistent notes. 17 211 cases made. (JL) Wine Spectator.

Intense and concentrated, with a ripe, rich band of currant, black cherry and blackberry fruit thats firmly supported by rich, chewy tannins. The cedary wood adds a leathery edge. Needs time (or decanting). Not up to the usual standards for this win... Wine Spectator. A Cabernet Sauvignon wine from California in USA. 2002 Whitehall Lane Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve 750ml

Winemaker's Notes:

For the second year in a row, Whitehall Lane was awarded the coveted trophy for producing the Best Bordeaux Varietal Wine from North America in Decanter's 2005 World Wine Awards competition. A classic Napa Valley Cabernet with rich, ripe aromas of black currant, cassis and toasty oak. Pre-Release Club Members: this wine is no longer available for discount. It is beautifully balanced and full bodied with opulent, concentrated flavors of currant, mulberry and a touch of anise. The rich mid-palate gives way to the long, velvety finish that lingers on and on and on...

Tasting Notes:

Full-bodied and rich, with a smooth and persistent finish. Cassis, black currant and toasted oak on the nose, followed by intense fruit flavors with notes of sweet oak and anise.
