White Oak Cabernet Napa 2007
Classic, elegant wine with aromas of black cherry and toasty oak that are complimented by rich vanilla bean. Mouth filling with layers of pomegranate, dark cherry and currant that unfold with supple tannins on the lingering finish. 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot, 2% Cabernet Franc.
Dark fruit / spice, held together with strong tannins and a clean finish. A very good value.

Rating: 90/100 - As reviewed by Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine (www.cgcw.com) in the August 2010 issue. Keenly composed and deeply scented with elements of black olives, briar, loam and a wealth of ripe, black-cherry fruit, this bottling makes a fine first impression and lives up to its promise once in the mouth. Very deep and full-flavored with a streak of perfectly fit, fine-grained tannins providing just the right measure of grip, it is both supple and well-balanced with a long finish. In some ways tempting even now, it is a wine that has places to go, and it is guaranteed to grow for a half decade or more.Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine aging recommendation: Cellar for future drinking. Wine will improve with bottle aging.
Rating: 85/100 - As reviewed by Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine (www.cgcw.com) in the August 2010 issue. If judged on its very rich, oak-sweetened nose alone, this wine would win very high marks, but despite smelling of ripe cherries, cocoa and toast, it winds up surprisingly tough and dry in the mouth. Its transient fruit is overrun in a hurry by tongue-curing tannins, and walnut-skin astringency is its most lasting trait.Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine aging recommendation: Cellar for future drinking.
