White Haven Pinot Noir Marlborough Ml 2008

Editorial Review by Gregory Dal Piaz:

This is a fantastic little bottle of Pinot Noir. It's got fabulous structure for a wine at this price point. The nose shows some light forest floor aromas with a modest concentration of fruit but the wine really comes alive on the palate. Real zippy acids and stiff little tannins support bright, vivid wild berry fruit tones and highlight the mineral, herb, and spice notes on the finish. This combine the ripeness of some new world regions with the firmness and focus of Burgundy. It's a lovely wine today but will benefit from 12-18 months of age allowing the tannins to soften somewhat, though i might very well prefer it today! Enjoy this with grilled Salmon or lean beef roast. 89pts

Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Coconut Rice Sweet Potato Cheesecake

RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.
