· Owner, Jamie Whetstone, left Charleston to work at Mustards Grill in Napa Valley · He met Larry Turley there and began as a cellar rat at Turley Cellars and later worked at Domaine Dujac in Burgundy · Focus is on single vineyard Pinot Noir, Syrah, and Viognier from organic vineyard sites
Light but Spicy, aromatic with herby and oaky aromas.
From a collection of vineyards along or near the Pacific Ocean. Perfectly ripe cherries, strawberry plus a ruby red grapefruit edge make for an intense, juicy, exotic Pinot Noir. Aged in 1/3 new French oak, "Jon Boat" starts with just a whiff of sweet, toasty barrel before launching into penetrating Pinot Noir fruit. A long, floral, litely spicy, deliciously fruity finish will have you coming back for more. I don't have duck very often, but this wine makes me crave it. Why a Jon Boat? Jamey grew up hunting and fishing on a Jon Boat (a flat-bottomed boat made for the lake) in South Carolina. Let's hear it for good childhood memories. 800 cases made.
