Served chilled. Very pale maize color with legs that quickly dissipate along the sides of the glass. Sweet red apple scents are forefront on the nose, like an apple hard candy. Strawberry ice cream and lemon peel come through underneath. The mouthfeel is oily and smooth. Overripe strawberry on the initial attack, the mid-palate, although slightly unpronounced, comes through with cantaloupe, sweet lemon and grapefruit. A short finish of apple juice, melon rind, and maybe honey. A little heat in the aftertaste with lasting flavors of red apple on the back of the throat. A good wine, but a little one dimensional. A bit too fruity for my particular taste, with a just a touch of alcohol on the back. Not spectacular, but I wouldn’t mind returning to it on some future date with the girlfriend.

Rating: 88/100 - As reviewed by Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine (www.cgcw.com) in the September 2010 issue. Fresh, fruity and unmistakably Riesling with flashes of minerals mixed in with its peachy, mildly melony fruit, this direct, slightly sweet working is built for near-term enjoyment. Rounded and easy to taste, yet not wanting for brightness and balanced by careful acidity, it fills the bill as both a solo sipper or as partner to sundry Chinese, Thai and Indian dishes.Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine aging recommendation: Drinkable now. Unlikely to improve with further aging.

Made very much in a German style, with low alcohol (by California standards), very high acidity and residual sugar of 2%. Shows well-ripened apricot, pineapple, peach, honeysuckle, vanilla meringue and Asian spice flavors.

Shows the clean acidity and purity this appellation bring to white wines, with savory tangerine, pineapple, green apple and vanilla cream flavors. Lovely as an appetizer wine, or with sole sautéed in butter.

Winemaker's Notes:

Fermentation: The grapes were cold fermented in stainless steel. Fermentation at lower temperatures helps the wine retain the natural fruitiness of the grapes. Aging: The wine was aged in stainless steel tank.gù

Tasting Notes:

This Riesling exhibits aromas of honeysuckle, lychee and fresh cut red apple, with a hint of nutmeg. The taste is crisp and fresh, delivering full, classic Riesling flavors of red apple and spice. The acid and the semi-sweetness are perfectly balanced for an excellent mouth feel.c9de2
