Wente Vineyards Chardonnay Livermore Valley Nth Degree 2008
Fermentation: 50% of this wine was barrel fermented in French oak, while the balance was fermented in stainless steel tanks to preserve the natural fruit flavors inherent in this Chardonnay. Aging: The barrel fermented portion was aged sur lie for 7 months. Batonnage, the art of stirring the barrels, was performed monthly. The stainless steel portion was aged on lees for 7 months.

nice wine at a great price
Great color, pepper and pear in the nose, vanilla and banana in the mouth. Clearly an oaky wine, but not overdone. A nice caramel finish. Liked the structure and the acidity of this wine a lot, but for me it misses some earthy tones.

This is a decent Chardonnay with a nice crisp finish.
