Wente Vineyards Chardonnay Livermore Valley 2006
Fermentation: 90% of this wine was barrel fermented, with the balance in stainless steel. After primary fermentation, the wine was allowed to naturally undergo malolactic fermentation. Aging: The wine was aged sur lie for 12 months in new American oak barrels. Battonage, the stirring of the barrels, was performed monthly.
Very oaky, buttery nose. Even though there's only 3% gewurtz it really shines through and adds complexity to the chardonnay. Its a very oaky wine, with a long spicy finish on the oak. Soft soft floral notes and fragrant aromas from the gewurz - recommended for something different.

I ordered a glass of this wine at a local restaurant and liked it so much that I went to the winery to go wine tasting!! I purchased 3 bottles!!
