Fermentation 72% barrel fermented in neutral French and American oak, 38% fermented in stainless steel. Aging The barrel-fermented portion was aged sur lie for 10 months. Batonnage, the stirring of the barrels, was performed monthly. The stainless steel portion was aged on the lees for 10 months.

Tasting Notes:

The 2001 Vineyard Select Chardonnay is a great example of Livermore Valley terroir. The soil shows through with a great mineral fl avor that is surrounded by apples, citrus, and pears, with a slight hint of oak.
