Nice Napa cab with complex berry and mint overtones. Only criticism was the fruit seemed slightly over ripe at times. Read more

Wine Tasting NotesThe origins of Wente Vineyards Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon date back to when Charles Wetmore first imported this clone of Cabernet to the Livermore Valley from the commune of Margaux, France. Purple color. Black tea, black cherry fruit aromas. Subtle and well integrated vanilla oak aromas. Black olive aromas. Powerful, yet silky tannins with a fruit filled mouthfeel. Balanced acidity, smooth yet lingering finish.
Winemaker's Notes:
Fermentation: The fermentation took place in small, upright, stainless steel fermenters. The fermenting must was gently pumped-over twice daily. Aging: 12 months in a combination of French and American oak barrels.
Tasting Notes:
This vintage is purple in color. There are aromas of black cherry fruit with subtle, well integrated vanilla oak characteristics. The wine is powerful yet has silky tannins with a fruit filled mouthfeel, balanced acidity and a smooth lingering finish.
