Weninger Blaufrankisch Reserve Proprietary Blend Wine 2002

External Review by JJ Buckley Fine Wines:

Very elegant almost restrained but in a seductive sense. This has loads of ripe berry mocha and meat flavors that are seasoned with sandalwood and Asian spice. Creamy finish goes on and on. Drink now through 2010.

Medium garnet colour. Restrained nose of cherry and plum with some spicy / cinnamon aromas. Crisp acidity. Medium+ level of chewy tannins a little rustic. Good concentration. Long finish. Tasted August 2009. - Lisa Perrotti-Brown Robert Parkers Wine Advocate.

Pale soft ruby to a clear rim. Ripe and rich on the nose with aromas of morello cherry tobacco leaf Parmigiano-Reggiano carob and river water. Soft and delicate on entry this has a silky mouthfeel as the tannins have resolved putting this into a prime drinking window. Turns spicy on the midpalate before finishing clean with acidity lifting the bright finish. An impressive 2002 that s fully hit maturity and is drinking well now. Drink 2012-2015. Cory Gowan.
