Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Coconut Rice Sweet Potato Cheesecake

RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.

Very typical pale Riesling color. Nose has a somewhat chemical character with hints of ammonia, citrus and fresh cotton. Very "flinty" nose too. Acidity is bright and lively - from what I hear this is unusual for the 2003 vintage. Flavor is something of a citrusy peach flavor -- but more candied, rich like peaches in simple syrup. This combines with a very obvious tropical fruit aspect of mango and passion fruit, and finishes with that distinctive mineral characteristic German Rieslings are known for. Excellent bottle of wine! Wonderfully complex nose even at this youthful stage - crushed stones, musk, lime leaf, honeydew melon, lemongrass and discernable noble rot. The satiny palate is very sweet yet possesses a refreshing, razor sharp backbone of high acidity. Elegantly ... Robert Parker's Wine Advocate.
