Weingut Montes-Alpha Syrah. Weingut Montes Neue Welt Chile Shiraz Weingut Montes Grosse 2009
Of intense ruby red color, it has enchanting floral aromas accompanied by tobacco and leathery notes. On the mouth, it’s powerful and full bodied to the palate, with soft and mature tannins and a very long and elegant finish. The wine has been aged in French oak for one year and had only one soft filtering. Aurelio has added 7% of Cabernet Sauvignon to improve the structure of the wine and 3% of Viognier to the final blend to enhance the wine’s nose and soften its tannins, producing a superb Syrah.

Light purple. Aroma of black berries. Velvet-like palate with a medium mouthfeel. Hints of herb and slight spice that leads into the finish.
Deep, deep opaque purple -opens with grape preserves and pine tar, bit more and mint with black and white pepper, then vanilla fudge and leather. Few swirls and nice bit of oak and more spice. Nice big mouthful, Medium dry long finish of cherry, smoke, damp earth, and tobacco. Drinking well now though a bit edgy, but think it will be better with a couple more years. Nice price point for this.

Rubinroter Wein. Beeriges Bouquet mit schöner Würze, Zimt und intensivem Duft. Im Gaumen konzentriert und körperreich mit weichen und reifen Tanninen. Langer und eleganter Abgang.
