I think I like these a little more than the '06's. It has more of the laser acidity I appreciate in a great kabinett.

Richterrsquo;s 2007 Brauneberger Juffer Riesling Kabinett displays scents and flavors of ripe pineapple and nut oils; a delicate palate; and subtle wet stone in its refreshing finish. Impeccably balanced, it just isnrsquo;t terribly complex. That said, Richterrsquo;s wines from Brauneberg can be deceptive until they have had a year or two in the bottle. Certainly this will have stamina for at least the better part of a decade. Dirk Richter is an historian of the Mosel as well as one of the regionrsquo;s foremost growers, and he claims that on five occasions in the eleven years between and including the epochal vintages of 1911 and 1921, flowering on the Mosel took place in Mayhellip; but then not again until 2007.
Lime-infused pears make up the aromatic profile of the 2001 Riesling Kabinett Brauneberger Juffer. A spicy, light to medium-bodied wine, it is the least expressive of Richterrsquo;s three 2001 Kabinetts yet reveals excellent depth, purity, and formidable nobility. Its highly detailed minerality dominates the palate as well as its admirably long finish. Projected maturity: 2003ndash;2009. This is a superb value.
Delicious flavors of stone fruits and ripe melon dominate the palate, balanced by bracing acidity. This is a delectable wine that will match a wide variety of appetizers and entreacute;es.
