Food Pairings for Weingut Juris St. Laurent
Saint Laurent is a fairly rare Austrian grape varietal, that appears to have some Pinot Noir in its DNA but produces wines denser and juicier than that variety. The 2006 Juris is deeply colored, medium- to full-bodied and possessed of lovely sour cherry fruit with brisk acidity. It recalls, say, a Mondeuse from the Savoie and is equally food-friendly.
