Weinguit Geil Huxelrebe Saptlese Rheinhessen Eimsheimer Sonnenhang 2009

Member Review by Matt Walker:

A fun alternative to your everyday Riesling, Huxelrebe has a bit more of a floral nose (a muscat is one of its parents) but still has nice fruit, apples and pears mostly but notes of pineapple and mango too. Touches of minerals in the finish. As a Spatlese it is a bit sweet but a considerable amount of acidity keeps it in balance nicely.
