Waugh Cellars Zinfandel Dry Creek Valley 2005
This wine is clean and sweet on the nose with fresh raspberry and blackberry. The mouth feel is round and robust, filling the entire palate. A velvety soft and creamy texture precedes an extremely well balanced and long, wonderful finish. Built with finesse to enjoy now but the structure for durability to last up to 8 years.

You will when you open this bottle. . . On the nose this wine is reminiscent of ripe Black Monukkas, fresh from the back yard. It's also slightly sweet smelling - almost cotton candy-esque. Yum! The flavor profile is not overly sweet, but nice and acidic. It tastes very much like ripe bing cherries and has an almost cola style finish. This wine is nice on it's own, but I imagine that served with a decadent cheese plate is where this wine would be happiest.
Berry central! This wine has great aromas of blackberry pie and cotton candy, carrying to Tootsie Pops and cherry flavors. The finish reminds me of flat, too-sweet soda - a bit disappointing, but this wine was impressive overall. Great to serve with food! Get me some cheese, please.
