Waterford Sauvignon Blanc 2007

Winemaker's Notes:

Waterford was established in 1998 with the intention of producing the very best wines in the country. The 120-hectare wine farm, is situated between the Simonsberg and Heldeberg mountain ranges and is a joint venture between Jeremy Ord and Kevin Arnold. Jeremy Ord made a fortune in information technology while Kevin Arnold established a reputation as one of South Africas leading winemakers during his tenure at Rust en Vrede. The Waterford label was launched in 1998 with a Cabernet Sauvignon and a Sauvignon Blanc. The Chardonnay was added a year later. In 2004 the vineyards and property was registered as an estate and the labels were changed to Waterford Estate. This Sauvignon is clear and bright, with excellent colour for Sauvignon Blanc. Juicy quince and gooseberry aromas fill the nose. Steely minerality up front gives way to a creamy, yeasty mouthfeel. Long finish, a great food wine. Serve with grilled yellowtail and roast vegetable, feta and couscous salad

The Waterford Way is a philosophy that celebrates prosperity, life, food, wine, family and friends, and guides all that we do here at Waterford. Every guest to the farm is made to feel a part of the Waterford Way, and those who have visited are drawn back often not only to the sumptuous wines, but to the heart and soul of Waterford.
