Waterbrook Rose of Sangiovese 2013

Winemaker's Notes:

Ruby grapefruits aromatics and juicy flavors of pomegranate and Maraschino cherry are the backbone of this clean, refreshing quencher. 100% Sangiovese, cold soaked for 48 to 80 hours before removing the skins. The warmest vintate in decades, 2013's growing season cooled off just in time for harvest, and picking proceeded at a normal pace starting at the end of August. Total tonnage, approximatey 220,000 tons was up easily five percent over 2012, a record for Washington State.

Edgy and rough on the nose with touches of watermelon and a bit of citric acid. Light bodied in the mouth with more melon and citrus, quite round but focussed towards the front of the mouth with less acidity than perhaps would be welcome in this wine.
