Waterbrook Red Blend Columbia Valley Mélange 2005
External Reviews for Waterbrook Red Blend Columbia Valley Mélange
Cinnamon, spice and cherries with nuances of oak are welcomed into a bright palate of delicious rich berries, pepper and chocolate, finishing with lively enthusiasm.
This wine gives you some nice bang for your buck. On the nose are hints of cedar box and sweet red bark plus a hint of nutmeg which is quite nice. On the palate it's smooth and balanced. Just a bit on the dry side, if you like that kind of thing you will be surprised by the simplicity yet deliciousness of this little blend.
But a friendly visit, folks! This wine has quality and value written all over it! The nose has some very nice chocolate chip cookie aromas mixed with ripe cherries. The cherries carry to the flavor profile with a nice cinnamon aspect bringing some complexity to the table. The finish is where you'll notice the Oak Monster the most, but it is entirely pleasant and lingers nicely. There's a reason why Waterbrook Winery has been producing this wine for over a decade! It's great!
