Waterbrook Chardonnay Columbia Valley Reserve 2006
External Reviews for Waterbrook Chardonnay Columbia Valley Reserve
Tropical fruit with light undertones of butter lead to pineapple and grapefruit. The bright tropical notes are rounded out by toasted almonds on the finish.
Wow. I was very pleasantly surprised by this Chardonnay - typically reserve says to me that the wine has spent a lot more time in oak. . . which leads me to believe the wine will taste like wood chips and stale grass cuttings. AND this wine is the FARTHEST thing from that. On the nose it's tart green apple, with a hint of buttery oak, and then pineapple! The palate is a little different in that it's more mellow than the tartness on the nose would have you believe. It tastes like fresh baked banana bread, and camp toasted marshmallows. SO GOOD.
