Waterbrook Cabernet Sauvignon Columbia Valley 2013
Red fruited and deep on the nose with a hint of truffle lurking behind sweet raspberry and red currant fruit. Shows a hint of sage. Soft and broad in the mouth, this could use some acid to help add tension. The flavors are nice - red cherry and a touch jammy, with accents of wood spice that are attractive and not distracting - but the wine just sits in the mouth and fades on the modest finish. 83ptsAdd winemaker's notes

So on to tonight's festivities. Having just returned from my big vacation to Walla Walla, I thought why not open another bottle of wine from one of the Walla Walla winemakers? This one comes from Waterbrook, a winery that I drove past twice on the way to L'Ecole No. 41, but I didn't have time to stop. Fortunately my local wine merchant, G.B. Russo & Sons got a couple shipments of Waterbrook's 2010 Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon and put it on sale for just $11.49! So I figured even if I don't like it, it's at least inexpensive. Dark nose of blackberry, plum cassis and kirsch. It's refreshing and tight yet with nice currant and cherry flavors. Wet, loamy earth and spice. Lots of spicy oak on the palate. With more time in bottle, this will be really nice. 3/24/12

Wow. Really took my wife and I be surprise. Let it breathe for an hour or so before serving, and we were pleasantly impressed! Good for the price.

The 2009 blend includes 22% Merlot but eliminates Syrah. Tart fruit flavors of raspberry and pie cherry are dressed up in sweet baking spices. Simple, but tasty.
Firm in texture, displaying a lovely beam of cherry and tobacco flavor that pushes through a layer of fine tannins, lingering nicely on the refined finish. Drink now. 2,000 cases made. -HS ** SOLD OUT **
Supple and focused. Appealing for its pure blueberry and currant flavors, shaded with gentle hints of cream, nutmeg and black olive. A beautifully formed red that has miles to go. Drink now through 2012. 3,134 cases made. HS Wine Spectator. A Cabernet Sauvignon wine from Washington in USA. 2004 Waterbrook Winery Cabernet Sauvignon 750ml
