Warre Port Blend Porto Vintage 1991

Winemaker's Notes:

DESCRIPTION The first Warre vintage for 6 years. The difficult market conditions of the time did not deter Warre's from declaring this superb wine which is of outstanding quality. Very small quantity produced. Full bodied and beautifully aromatic. From the intensity of the colour during fermentation it was immediately apparent that some classic wines were being produced. OUR VINTAGE PORT EXPERT'S RECOMMENDATION This young wine should be allowed to age in its own bottle for at least 15 to 20 years from the time it is bottled to achieve its optimum maturity. For those who prefer to drink their Vintage Port young, 4 to 5 years are sufficient. This wine has a wonderfully inviting nose with marvellous fruit to match.

This is feminine in style, with lovely berry and grapey aromas and flavors. The finish, however, is packed with fruit and tannins -- it's got grip.

Raisiny and very sweet, with plum and prune aromas and flavors. Medium- to full-bodied, with a slightly hot finish, but should come around nicely. '91/'92 Port retrospective. Drink now through 2014. 6,000 cases made. -JS Wine Spectator. A Port wine from Douro in Portugal. 1991 Warre Vintage Port 750ml
