Not a particularly good bottle this was disjointed and hot. It had been decanted for about 6 hours but it looks like it may have needed more but really nothing could have really made it much better. it was volatile and a mess. 70pts

When I first opened this, it was showing some gorgeous aromas of cigar, cedar, minerals, and herbs. I was very impressed. As the day went on and the wine sat in the decanter, these aromas blew off. I was surprised at how fragile these tertiary aromas were. The wine sat in the decanter for several hours and I expected it to get better. I was somewhat disappointed. All things considered, in the beginning it was showing really well.

When such a wine becomes available it is sure to be a leader in its field. Warres principal objective is to produce a vintage Port that continues the same superb reputation created by the great Warres vintages of previous generations.

Ruby-colored, with grape, dark chocolate and plum. Full and chewy. Tannins are still there and need to mellow. Medium-sweet and grapey. A little one-dimensional still, but impressive. 77/85/97 blind Port retrospective... Wine Spectator. A Port wine from Douro in Portugal. 1985 Warre Vintage Port 750ml

There is plenty of grip and backbone here. Deep purple, with concentrated grape and violet aromas, full-bodied, with huge grapy flavors, excellent backbone and a long finish. -JS Wine Spectator. A Port wine from Douro in Portugal. 1985 Warre Vintage Port 750ml

Winemaker John Freeman harvested grapes from throughout Columbia Valley to make this richly flavored Cabernet. Aged 17 months in new oak, it offers mouth-filling blackberry fruit highlighted by notes of spice, toast and caramel.
