Walter Hansel Pinot Noir Russian River Valley Cahill Lane 2013

Winemaker's Notes:

93 points Robert Parker: A blend of three clones -- Dijon clones 114 and 115, as well as Rochioli material -- the 2013 Pinot Noir Cahill Lane has a dark ruby color and a fragrant style with floral and earth tones intermixed with strawberries and black cherries. The sweetness of the tannin as well as the heady glycerin and lushness make for a hedonistic and intellectually satisfying Pinot Noir to drink over the next 7-10 years. Drink: 2015-2025. (Oct 2015)

This location is ideal for growing Pinot Noir and Chardonnay as the nights and mornings are cooled by coastal fog yet the mid-days warm up to perfect grape ripening temperatures. Temperature swings of 40 degrees are very common. Read less
