Walter Hansel Pinot Noir Estate Vyds 2012

Winemaker's Notes:

Robert Parker: Combining quality with reasonable prices and estate-grown grapes, you can't do much better than Stephen Hansel;s Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs. The core of this wine is from the Meadows Vineyard in which 100% comes from the Rochioli Selection. Hansel adds in a little Swan clone from their West 12 rows and a barrel here and there. This is truly representative of all of Hansel's vineyard sites.

The 2012 Pinot Noir Russian River possesses pretty strawberry and cherry notes along with crisp acidity and an exuberant, fresh, medium-bodied personality with excellent concentration and ripeness. It should drink nicely for 5–6 years.

Dark red. Red berries and cherry pit on the spice-accented nose and in the mouth. Juicy and tightly focused, with sneaky sweetness and a bright spine of acidity adding lift. Closes on a tangy note, with very good energy and gentle tannins adding structure.
