Light cherry fruit on the nose, the wine is simple, plain and has a fake, saccharine, flavor. Great for a sangria mix.

The 2007 Cumberland Reserve is dark ruby in color with deep red reflections at the rim of the glass. The perfume is, as always, complex with great spice notes, minerality, coffee and chocolate undertones and a great vein of dark red fruits such as black cherry and black raspberry. The attack is full of fruit and very supple with suave tannins and silkiness in the mid-palate and finish. This wine exudes the great possibilities that were achievable during the long and cool 2007 vintage and will drink very well now and for ten years to come if cellared carefully.

Wine Tasting NotesThis soft, fruity red possesses the cherrylike fruitiness and smooth texture characteristic of the Merlot variety. It should appeal especially to nonalcoholic wine drinkers seeking the health benefits of red wine along with the sophistication of a world-class varietal.

Fresh, ripe strawberry and an alkaline note rise from the glass of Christoffel's 2007 Urziger Wurzgarten Riesling Kabinett. This shows less pure pizzazz than the corresponding Treppchen, but here saline, alkaline, and stony nuances enter into a shimmering interchange with the fruit and the finish floats away slowly and delicately, with well-judged, barely noticeable sweetness. Bright red. Red berries and cherry on the nose, with sexy incense and floral nuances adding complexity. Juicy red fruit flavors are underscored by smoke and floral pastilles, picking up a hint of licorice with air. Leaves sweet raspberry and cherry notes behind on the focused, gently sweet finish. This is drinking well now. Smooth in texture, this transparent wine has a lively feel to its blackberry and tar aromas and flavors, lingering on the savory finish. Drink now through 2011. Tasted twice, with consistent notes. 5,105 cases made. -HS The Cumberland Reserve cuvee is the only blend that Bergstrom produces. The 2007 Cumberland Reserve was sourced from 15 vineyards and, according to Bergstrom, is "my style, my take on the vintage." Medium ruby-colored, it reveals a perfume of toasty black fruits, earth notes, and spice box. Elegant and restrained on the palate, mineral, floral, and cinnamon notes emerge leading to a silky, fruit-filled finish. Drink this friendly effort over the next 8 years.
