External Reviews for Walnut Crest Cabernet Sauvignon
Shows the bell peppr and tobacco leaf side of Cabernet, but still has enough fresh black cherry to keep it interesting.
It's hard to imagine getting a better red wine for five bucks which makes this one of the best Best Buys out there. On the mark at all check points, with ripe cherry and plum flavors and a clean, smooth finish. Surprisingly solid.
A great introductory Cabernet with soft, round tannins, this is an approachable wine, not too dry, with a refreshing purity of fruit. The flavors are of dark berries - blueberry, blackberry and currant. Easy red to drink, attractive for this price range with the added bonus of being produced from organically grown grapes.
This soft-textured Cabernet from Chile has plenty of up-front appeal, with rich, dense, forward flavors of black currant and plum, and a price tag that makes a good choice when the occasion calls for multiple bottles. Drink now.
A light, smooth, mature red wine. Spicy, minty notes accent the soft caramel-scented black cherry flavors that sneak in on the finish. Drinkable now.
At six bucks, we'd take a tasty mouthful for fruit without complaint, but Walnut Crest takes it further, offering a peppery, varietally correct Cabernet with enough tooth to grapple with a flank steak. A by-the-case buy.
